Five Effective Practices for Healthy Weight Loss

1. Keep a journal …

By documenting what you eat you can keep track and evaluate your eating habits at the end of each week. If you have a dietician, you can ask your journal and suggest improvement points.

2. Drink water …

Drop the juice and soda and substitute them with water. Sugar doesn’t help you los weight and water is a better thirst quencher. Your body should always be hydrated and it will easily flush out the waste. With enough water intake your body will be able to metabolize fat more effectively.  Drinking water before eating will make you feel full and cause you not to eat as much.

2. Eat 5 times a day …

Eating breakfast regulates your metabolism and makes you want to eat less at night/The more you eat for breakfast, the less food you will want to eat at night. By skipping breakfast, it will cause you to crave more food at night time.  You don’t need to eat 5 large meals. Three meals of a sensible size and 2 low calorie snacks are fine to eat in a day

3. Walk at least 10 minutes a day …

If you can’t join a gym or you are not a huge fan of exercising, walk at least ten minutes a day. You can take a walk with your dog or instead of driving to your local grocery store, try walking there. Some exercise is better than no exercise at all and helps you to maintain your weight loss.

4. Use smaller plates …

The bigger your plate is the more tempting it will be to put more food in it. Use smaller plates. The adult human stomach is approximately about the same size of an adult hand so your meal portion should not be any bigger than a hand and a half.

5. Read between the lines …

Everywhere you look food and drink products claim to be “fat free” but it still can have a lot of calories. Examples of this are diet sodas. Find out what is good for you and stick with it. Avoid the snack isles at the super market at all costs no matter how many times you see the words “fat free” or “Low calories” on their cookie and ice cream packages.

In order to succeed in loosing weight you must be dedicated to the weight loss tips given above and you will see the difference in your waist line.
